Planning a Trip to Disney

Image
I am super excited for our family trip to Disney World this summer. But, it will be my first time traveling with kids on a plane. Traveling alone can be somewhat exhausting and now adding kids to the mix, I need to really prepare myself for this. We haven't told our kids yet and I know they will be very ecstatic when we finally surprise them. I remember my first time to Disney as a kid and I can't wait to create this memory with mine. I wanted to make this experience as enjoyable as possible, so I looked for ways to prepare myself to relieve as much stress as I could. When the time comes, I don't want to feel overwhelmed or anxious about the whole traveling experience. I came across the following trips to make sure this trip is successful for us all: 1.   Plan ahead : I have made a list of all this I need. I have made hotel reservations, booked flights, and purchased park tickets already. I will be making a rough itinerary for every day we will be there to ensure we make th...

Parenting, Student, and Full-Time Employee

Image
I am a parent, student, and full-time employee. I am so much more but these things take precedence.  Sometimes it is challenging and overwhelming but with the right approach and mindset I know I am more than capable of balancing all my roles effectively. I can assure you that it is not an impossible task.      For me, I was so clueless diving into these roles I now maintain. Looking at friends on social media, they made it look so easy. Trust me, it isn’t. I learned a lot through trial and error, and I found ways to successfully navigate parenting while pursuing my studies and working a full-time job.      Prioritizing is extremely important. I have to plan on completing important tasks and allocating time accordingly. For example, I try to complete most of my homework during my free time at work. Last night, I came home after work, spent time with family, cooked dinner, put my kid to sleep and sacrificed a little of my sl...

10 Simple Habits to Boost Your Productivity Everyday ft. Artificial Interlligence

This week I have been feeling a little unmotivated. I haven't been enthusiastic about continuing the theme for my blog. To be honest, I had a very busy weekend and momma is tired! I thought about switching up my topic this week but couldn't think of anything that piqued my interest. ChatGPT came to mind, and I remembered an article from class, "Why the Future of Blogging May be Driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI)" . AI can be used to generate ideas, research, and content for blogs. On the search bar I typed, "creative ideas for a blog post." It generated a list of 15 ideas. Most interesting to me was "10 Simple Habits to Boost Your Productivity Everyday." This is perfect for me because of my lack of motivation, I have also been unproductive. As a result, I have been procrastinating and my time management has been terrible. Diving into this topic, I hope to discover some techniques to help motivate me to be more productive and also motivate any...

What are your feeling's toward preschool?

Image
I recently watched a YouTube video about early childhood education. Haneefah Shuaibe-Peters discusses the importance of preschool. She compares it to a social experience and explains how its main focus should be to prepare good people who understand themselves and their relationship to others. I couldn't agree with her more. After watching the video below, I'd love to hear your thoughts.  In September of last year, my son started preschool. I figured he was ready for a more structed classroom setting with children his age. I thought he needed more than just a daycare setting. To be honest, it is hard to find quality childcare in Philadelphia. I needed him to learn academics but most importantly how to socialize. There are many other benefits of preschool, but socialization is most important for me. I thought teachers would be trained in early childhood education, but again this background isn't required for all preschool teachers. Right now, I am questioning if ...

A Little About ADHD

Just a quick refresher on ADHD for parents or caregivers WHAT IS ADHD: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a medical condition. Differences in brain development and brain activity affect attention, the ability to sit still, and self-control.  WHAT ARE THE CAUSES:  The causes are unclear, but some evidence suggests it is mostly inherited. It is not caused by too much screen time, bad parenting, and/or a high sugar diet. On the other hand, kids born early, environmental toxins, and drug use during pregnancy could increase the risk.  WHAT ARE THE SIGNS: It is important to also understand early childhood development. Mostly all kids will struggle with paying attention, siting still, following directions, and being patient at some point. The difference is that a child with ADHD will struggle harder and more often.  Below are some areas where children with ADHD will show signs: Inattentive - When a child is easily distracted and has trouble focusing, concentr...
