Parenting, Student, and Full-Time Employee

I am a parent, student, and full-time employee. I am so much more but these things take precedence.  Sometimes it is challenging and overwhelming but with the right approach and mindset I know I am more than capable of balancing all my roles effectively. I can assure you that it is not an impossible task.
For me, I was so clueless diving into these roles I now maintain. Looking at friends on social media, they made it look so easy. Trust me, it isn’t. I learned a lot through trial and error, and I found ways to successfully navigate parenting while pursuing my studies and working a full-time job.
Prioritizing is extremely important. I have to plan on completing important tasks and allocating time accordingly. For example, I try to complete most of my homework during my free time at work. Last night, I came home after work, spent time with family, cooked dinner, put my kid to sleep and sacrificed a little of my sleep to complete homework.
I know some people don’t like asking for help but when you have many roles to maintain, seeking support and taking advantage of resources could really help clear your plate if you know what I mean. My mother is a huge help. She would watch my son some weekends when I find myself completely backed up. My friends also support me when I need to relieve stress or just need to take a day away from my demands. I had to learn that it is ok to take a little time for myself. As a mother, we tend to neglect our own needs but in order to be a successful student or parent, taking care of ourselves is also important.
I was encouraged to write this as a little self-reflection.  Life moves so fast, and we may not notice all the hard work that we do daily. I am proud to be a parent, student, and full-time employee. I have come so far and wanted to take the time to congratulate myself for maintaining all my roles. I have pushed through many adversities. I’d like to extend a little encouragement to you as well. Regardless of how hard life may seem, it is only momentary, stay resilient and you will see better days.
